Mental Health and Crisis Programs
Introduction
Mood swings, anxiety, depression and disruptive behaviors are some of the emotional results of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that people may experience. Psychological impairments may appear for numerous reasons including:
• Neurological damage from TBI
• A result of the traumatic event
• Dramatic changes in lifestyle following TBI such as loss of housing, employment and peers
In this section you will find services that are available for people with mental health issues from the repercussions of TBI. Sometimes individuals with TBI need referrals to the professionals who can help promptly and efficiently. If you feel yourself or another is in need of help with a crisis
situation, please call one of the listings in this section. Be prepared to give a complete description of the problem, so that the agency can help quickly and effectively.
At any time, if you feel that your life or a family member’s life is in immediate danger, call 911 to contact emergency services or the police.
