Referral Method: A referral must be made through the school.

Description: Maintains a lending library (Switches, toys, AAC devices, alternative computer access, low tech resources. See website for complete list.) The center provides assistive technology collaborative planning for children with disabilities. They offer classes statewide on assistive technology that are open to the public on a space available basis.

Area served: State of WA, School Districts, children up to age 21 enrolled in the school system.

Eligibility: Any students under current IEP or 504 plan, receiving services from a WA state school district.

Description: Caring for You: Powerful Tools for Caregiving is a six-week class designed to benefit unpaid family caregivers of older adults with chronic conditions such as, brain injury, stroke, and cancer). The classes help caregivers develop and practice self-care “tools” and to thrive as individuals while managing caregiving responsibilities.

Description: Through lectures, demonstrations of assistive technology devices, case studies, and hands-on experience with AT, the focus will be on an interdisciplinary approach to the selection, implementation and use of technology to meet the educational, vocational, transitional and independent living needs of individuals (adults and children) with disabilities.

Eligibility: Individuals with Disabilities, their Family Members, and Advocates Also open to  employers, ADA Administrators, Technology Directors, Computer Lab personnel, Librarians, and all others who are responsible for assuring that individuals with disabilities are provided with equal access to information and services, including decision makers and procurement officers who need to understand assistive technology in order to evaluate or assure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
