| Our Visit to Delta Rehabilitation! | |
|
On February 11, 2008, Administrative Assistant Shannon Fountain, Helpline Manager Laura Hankins, and IT Consultant Brian Reynolds paid our dear friends at the Delta Rehabilitation a visit. A good time was had by all, and we hope to visit again very soon. The Brain Injury Association of Washington would like to extend our thanks to everyone at the Delta Rehabilitation for the warmth and friendship they have always shown us. Here are a few of the amazing people we met that day... |

This is Mike Miller, one of the friendliest guys you could ever hope to meet. Remember, whenever Mike’s around, it’s always Miller Time!! |

This is LeAnne Son, who has been at Delta since August of 1998. LeAnne is originally from California, and says she likes it better there because of the weather. Her favorite activities are physical therapy, especially with her arms, and summer camp. |

It is hard to forget an amazing person like Janet Ingham. Her birthday is on April 15, making her an Aries. Due to a closed head injury, Janet was in a coma for 2.5 months, and said she had to learn everything over again as if she were a baby. She had this to say about brain injury: “From far back pictures look lovely, even if up close they are out of the lines.” We couldn’t agree more, Janet. |

Janet Richter, another friend we made during our excursion. |

This is Gerri Dolmatz, an amazing artist. We were blown away by some of the art she has created; in fact, one of her paintings is proudly displayed in the BIAWA office! |
|
|
Brian Bruce, whose mother Judy works with Delta founders the Walshes. Awesome hat, Brian! |
|

Here we are with Gary Edwards, proudly displaying one of the ceramics he painted, incredibly, with his mouth! A truly talented fellow. |

This is Terry Ervine, who we had a great time with, as you can see. Terry is from Spokane. |

Greg Bakos is such a live wire! He had us cracking up right from the start. If there is one thing that Greg loves, it’s classic cars. In fact, his favorite car is a ’72 Chevy Malibu, despite the fact that it only gets 5 or 6 miles to the gallon. |

Steve Jordan’s life reads like one out of a novel. He used to live in Hawaii, where he grew bananas, coconuts, coffee and macadamia nuts. He told us that if he could ever move back to Hawaii, he would (take us with you, Steve!!). He also used to be a swimsuit model. |

Last but not least, Mike Walsh is the beloved son of Wally and Donna Walsh. We have a few of his paintings and drawings as well, which he graciously gave to us. Thanks, Mike, and thank you to everyone at the Delta Foundation! |
